// DESCRIPTION
What it is
ISE‑1 operates as an Ethernet switch with five intrinsically safe 10/100Base‑TX ports. It automatically detects connection speed and operates in half or full duplex mode. You connect the switches in a cascade, expanding the network exactly where you need it.
A connected KMi‑1 media converter provides an optical output for connecting to the fibre‑optic network.
The electrical equipment is intrinsically safe, so the device operates in underground mines and tunnels, in rooms at risk of gas and dust explosions. It requires an enclosure with a minimum IP54 protection rating. Device category I M1, explosion‑protected Ex ia I Ma design, ATEX certificate KDB 14 ATEX 0111X.
