MSFP - Intrinsically safe interface module
An intrinsically safe SFP module connecting a network device with a single‑mode optical fibre. The "op is" protection allows direct connection to the network in a space at risk of methane and coal dust explosions.

// DESCRIPTION
What it is
MSFP connects the motherboard of a network device, for example, a switch, router, or media converter, with a single‑mode optical fibre. It takes the form of an insert that you install in a standard SFP connector.
Available in six variants: MSFP/100FX and MSFP/1000X, each in version A, B, or C, depending on transmission speed and the number of fibres. It supports Hot Plug and cooperates with Cisco switches.
The "op is" protection allows the module to be connected directly to an optical fibre leading to a network in a space at risk of methane and coal dust explosions, over a distance of up to 40 km. Device category I M1, explosion‑protected Ex ia op is I Ma design, ATEX certificate KDB 16 ATEX 0015U.
